Daytona Beach, Florida

So, my love affair with Hertz at the Orlando airport continues. I got a convertable volvo again. But, this time I had to drive to Daytona Beach (a little over one hour drive) and back. On the way back to the airport it was 79 degrees and sunny. Perfect day to drive with the top down. I shed a tear when I turned this one in. Incidentally, I also shed a tear when I realized I left my sunglasses in the bathroom at the airport.

I didn't really have time to do much while I was in Daytona. This time my hotel was by the airport (and the racetrack) rather than being on the beach. I drove around the track a little bit, and I shot this picture from the hotel parking lot. The track is in the far background.

Blast from the past: random things that I have seen in the airport

I spend a significant amount of time in the airport. So much so that I'm really wondering whether I should file income taxes with the state of georgia as a nonresident. Along the way, I've managed to see one "celebrity" -- Ron Jeremy. Unfortunately, that predated my Iphone and so there is no photographic proof. And, to be honest I was sad that I recognized him so easily. I've also seen/heard some odd parenting. Once I saw a lady feed her children chips and coke for breakfast. I'm no stickler for healthy foods, but that's even below my standards. Another time I heard a man tell his son to go ahead and go to the bathroom prior to boarding the plane because he wouldn't want to drop a doozy on the plane. I think that's sage advice. Once again, sadly, I have no photographic evidence of these events either. But there have been a few things along the way that I've taken pictures of.

First, birds in the airpot.

Dallas Fort Worth
Las Vegas - they probably got as bored of the slots as I did

Second, airport fast food worker asleep in the airport. It is common to see people sleeping in the airport. I'm not going to lie, I fell asleep sitting up in Burbank. But, this is the only time I've seen someone working in the airport sleeping. (Dallas Fort worth)

Third, puppy in carrier. This is more sad than weird. Sorry.

Fourth, and finally, man who took off of his shoes on the plane. OK, this is not in the airport -- but it's close. And, this is probably more rude than weird. Wait, not weird but gross. Totally gross. People keep your shoes on!
